Ayurvedic Medicine

Ayurvedic medicine, also known simply as Ayurveda, is a traditional system of healing that originated in India more than 3,000 years ago. The word “Ayurveda” comes from the Sanskrit terms “Ayur” (life) and “Veda” (knowledge), meaning “the science of life.” Ayurveda is a holistic approach to health and wellness that emphasizes the balance between the mind, body, and spirit.
Ayurvedic medicine uses a combination of natural therapies, including herbal remedies, dietary guidelines, yoga, meditation, massage, and detoxification processes (Panchakarma). It focuses on the unique constitution of each individual (Prakriti) and aims to maintain or restore balance among the three fundamental energies or doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.
Ayurvedic treatments are designed to promote overall well-being, prevent illness, and address the root cause of health issues rather than just managing symptoms. Recognized for its natural and personalized approach, Ayurveda continues to be practiced globally alongside modern medicine for a wide range of health conditions.
