Carl York

Osteopathic Manual Therapy

Carl York is an experienced osteopath and a welcomed addition to the Honey & Ginger team of practitioners. He has been in private practice as a manual therapist in Nova Scotia since 2002, and is praised for his professionalism and gentle manner.

Carl began his studies in the BSc. Health Education program at Dalhousie University, where he played for the Dalhousie Tigers Men’s soccer team. He then obtained his Diploma in Massage Therapy with Honours from ICT Northumberland College and was presented with the Award for Clinical Excellence and Professionalism for the class of 2002. Carl moved on to complete Osteopathic school at the College d’Études Ostéopathiques.

A member of the Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners and the Nova Scotia Association of Osteopaths, Carl has been educated in many areas of osteopathy, including myofascial release, manipulation thrust techniques (cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine) and pelvic floor and core function.

Carl is not only committed to continuing his own education to expand his knowledge, but to teaching others as well. He has taught courses in myofascial release through the John F. Barnes Myofascial Release seminar series, as well as Orthopaedic Assessment and Anatomy Palpation at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy where he was also a Clinical Supervisor in the General Teaching Clinic, and the Chronic Pain and Neurological outreach clinics.
