Mirella Veras is a Registered Physiotherapist with a Post-doctoral in Rehabilitation Sciences from the University of Montreal. With over 20 years of experience as a physiotherapist, Mirella has worked in both hospital and clinical settings, consulting, as a professor and coordinator of health services.
Mirella has advanced level certification in pelvic health physiotherapy, including pelvic pain and anorectal disorders, and prostate cancer.
Pelvic floor physiotherapy can help with pelvic pain, urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, fecal incontinence, constipation, post-void dribbling, and pre and post-natal issues. She also offers regular physiotherapy for several conditions including neck, back and knee pain, plantar fasciitis, arthritis, repetitive strain injury, post-surgery recovery, and mobility problems related to neurological disorders such as stroke and Parkinson’s disease.
She has taken continuing education in concussion, Medical Therapeutic Yoga, acupuncture, dry needling, and manual therapy.
Mirella has created the Clinical Tai Chi System of Balance and is also certified in Tai Chi for diabetes, arthritis, and fall prevention.
When not at work, Mirella loves spending time with her family, going for long walks, and practicing Tai Chi and Pilates. She is also the author of Evidence-Based Tai Chi for Rehabilitation and Wellness: A System of Balance for Clinical Practice.
